Jinda project in Iraq
- The Jinda centre is based in a refugee camp in, Dohuk city, Northern Iraq and works with women who have escaped or been rescued from enslavement by ISIS (also known as Daesh). They firstly help the women, who are often also mothers, with their medical and psychological needs. They have asked us to help assist and organise sending nail technician teachers so the women can learn how to do manicures, get professional certification and start their own businesses within the community, helping themselves and the local economy. This will empower the women to provide for their families and help them regain confidence in themselves and their abilities. .
